Whats the name of the keyboard key next to...

What's the name of the key on the standard keyboard on a personal computer next to the number [1/!] and above the tab?

�`�`�   are the symobls it produces.  There is also a broken line, how do I get to use that?

Someone suggested this is referred to as the 'console' key.

On American keyboards, this key has the ~ sign, which is the tilde. In many games, this key opens the developer console in games, hence the console key.

Tild key

Instead of the three key combination that kempie gave for the � character, you can get it by using the two key combination of the other alt key to the right of the spacebar.  Just press (alt gr + key).  This also works for the euro symbol on the 4 key. �

Gamers would call it the console key, because when you press it during some games, it brings up a console where you can enter commands, change settings, etc.

I always though it was called tilde, but now I'm looking at my keyboard, my tilde ~ is actually next to the return key!
