Firefox doesn't work. Internet explorer doesn't work either but chrome works
9 Answers
hey please, my mozilla firefox doesn't work now, and internet explorer either. But chrome works! It's not the firewall, the firewall clearly says that the program is allowed. Eset nod says it too, I though that it was the registry so i downloaded a repair and clean for registries files and repaired it: I also reinstalled it and it still doesn't work. Why! please help, I need my firefox

Two options I can think of, the most likely one being the wrong versions of the browsers are allowed through your firewall, this is pretty simple to check, just disabled your firewall temporally and see if IE and firefox start working, if they do it's a firewall setting.
The other far less likely option is you've managed to set both IE and firefox to use a proxy server that doesn't exist. you can check this in IE by clicking tools > internet options, click on the connections tab and then on the LAN settings button and make sure nothing at all is ticked on the window that comes up.

I can launch the browser but it doesn't connect to any page because the browser simply doesnt start the connection it just says page can't be displayed
-I already reinstalled and uninstalled and reinstalled everything
-There is nothing ticked on the lan settings
-the firewall doesn't have any effect, deactivated or activated I have the same problem
-I had done a system restore before the problem occured and the system restore didn't work ok
-I used even revo uninstaller to uninstall firefox and also erase the suspicious things from the registry after the problem started but nothing works

possibly the problem is due to the browser redirect virus.

4 I erased, uninstalled and reinstalled absolutely everything on firefox, do I have to do it on internet too?
5 are you sure? I'm afraid that that program might cause problems of compatibility with eset nod. And it's hard for me to download a file with many megabytes (my internet provider charges per megabyte) (although if you are very sure I would do it)
(the thing is that eset nod and avast hadn't detected viruses or spywares in any mode, well they are cleaned, supposedly)
