My recorder has suddenly stopped picking up the freeview signal.
We no longer have analogue only digital in this area.
I have looked at various comments on the internet and there seems to be a problem with a capacitor on some models.
Mine is 6 year old. Is it worth geting it repaired and if so how much might it be? Or would I be better cutting my losses and buying a new one?
I've had no problems before.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

I don't know what the capacitor does, but if it is just the tuner that is not working you could buy a digibox and plug it in.

They are relatively cheap.

I wouldn't have thought it worth trying to get a six year old device repaired, with the price of labour these days.
I had a problem a bit like this a while back with my Panasonic

Turned it off at the wall for a bit and retasrted it and ran through a full retuning again which seemed to fix it for me

The only other thing is to make sure you've definately noat acidently got it switched to analogue by mistake
