Mp3 tracks keep renaming themselves!!!

I am finding that when I download an MP3 track and name it or amend the title when I go back to it, it seems to mysteriously rename itself!  Why is this and does anybody else experience this?  Or perhaps I have some settings in my XP set up wrong for music files?  Any help would be much appreciated!!

oceanauk,are you just right clicking and then renaming the track?m not entirely sure if I am correct,but I thought that the track details that actually appear on the mp3 player come from the properties of the track, and not in the rename section.I just went into one of my mp3 traks and changed the title by selecting rename,but I then went into the track properties,and in the summary tab it still showed the original track details.

Hi Teak36; yes I'm using right click and then renaming title.  I know the track properties tab doesn't alter and that's fine I don't want to change that - just the info. that is displayed on my computer - sometimes it'll just show a number - no artist or track title!
