very pleased with my new Toshiba l/t
why does the J on the key board have a raised dot (braille like) on it?
also quite laughable on a sticker on the front says it has "large speakers for deep sound", yes, about 1" in diameter, i dont think so lol.
and read ,also told by the salesman never keep the battery attached if your going to use it on the mains normally,?? your thoughts on this one please

You probably have a raised bit on the "F" key too. These are the home keys for touch typing. Your left index finger rests on the "F" key and your right index finger rests on the "J" key.

I would not worry about the battery thing. I have plugged my laptop in with the battery for over two years and not noticed any change in the life of the battery. This advise was for the older type of battery that had a memory. The new ones do not suffer from this issue as much.

now i got my new laptop im giving my old pc tower to a friend .its got Pentium 4 dual core 3.20gz processor
would it make a deal of difference if i put 4 gb memory (its max),at moment it's has 2x 1gb and 2 x 512 mbs = 3 gb if i replaced the 2 x 512s with 2 x 1gb would i seen any speed up??

I dont follow that , because you have to plug the lap top in , in order to charge the battery .

Or am i missing something here ?

on google (about batteries) it says take out the battery more or less on a 50% charge, put it in a cool place (fridge they say) and charge it up full now and then, use it, to half charge and store it again.this if your going to use it on mostly mains, i know it sounds convoluted but that what i got from many other forums and web pages

Don't bother. Your battery should still last more than a couple of years just using it normally.
