Their claim of being "an Internet Research Community" seems to be at least half correct. The little secret that is not widely published is this software causes computers to lose their browsing ability after simply changing how connection to the Internet is achieved (i.e., dial up modem to broadband access) or by upgrading browser versions.
Possibly, if one visits their site, which requires a login and password, to 'uninstall' before modifying your connection or browser, no problems will be encountered. However, it's been my great privilege to see computers after modifications were done, and all browsing abilities have ceased to function, though connections and pings are still possible.
Assuming you have ossproxy.exe because you, or someone with access to your computer has 'installed' this spyware, try logging into their site: https://www.marketscore.com/d/members/login.asp
. The alternative is removing files and making registry edits, as it is never installed with an entry in your "Add/Remove" list of installed programs.
In response to DaveC's requests about removal could I recommend AdAware by LavaSoft (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/)
- it's a free program that removes traces of all AdWare/SpyWare that may be resident on your system... I use all the time without any problems or side-effects.
