Twice today I have tried to log in to ebay and they want to telephone me with a PIN number :

Your online security is very important to eBay. It looks like you signed in from a computer we are not familiar with. Although we know you may use different computers, we're taking this extra precaution to prevent unauthorised access to your account.

Why is this ?

Sorry didn't explain, I haven't signed on with a different computer, and today I put eight items up for sale with no problems. Am I being hacked ?
I'd ring them, smurf - I've gone in from a number of computers over the years and I've never been asked for any sort of PIN.

Ring THEM though, don't let them ring you - if this is a scam, it ciould be anyone phoning you. Can you get to the eBay page for customer service/contact us? there's a phone number there and an ID number you need to use in 15 minutes before it expires

Well I managed to find their 0800 number, on my BT phone, thinking it was Freephone. I was speaking to someone in USA ! I dread to think what their charges are ...
I`ve spoken to ebay before and was put onto the USA as well. They were great. I`m pretty sure I wasn`t charged for the call.
