grey image

using laptop w7 chrome
booted up my laptop today
at the bottom of the screen
a big grey image has appeared
about 3inches high 2 inches wide
laptop only 3 months old
also white lines has appeared across the screen
any ideas how to get get rid of it

Is the laptop still under warranty?

Please state the make and model.
Is the 'image' there all the time?
Does it change shape when you half close the lid?
Are the white lines evenly spread over the full height of the screen?

are very slim
some are up and down

I was hoping one of the AB techies might have spotted your plight by now.

Definitely take it back to where you bought it from. It does sound like a screen problem. Don't let them fob you off. You're entitled to get what you paid for and enjoy trouble free use for a reasonable period.

a well known one

its a repair job
