I have a network of ten computers connected to a server. One of them wect to the internet. It is trying to but the Green Bar at the bottom is moving extremely slowly. All the other computers are onay and this one is not at the end of the line either, it's in the middle.

Has anyone any tips on what I could be looking to check to resolve this?

Sorry, sorry it's on Windows Vista Business.
Check the IP configuration against a working one to make sure the address is in the correct range and subnet, gateway and DNS servers are the same.

See if you can ping the gateway.

see if you can ping a internet URL (www.google.co.uk)

see if you can ping an internet IP address (I use 8.8.8.8 as a test)

The gateway info seems to be the same as two other PCs. Also, I've tried a different cable and connecting to different outlets but it still won't connect.

Chuck, I've got an update. I restarted the PC in Safe Mode and it connected to the internet as it should. I've now restarted it again in Normal Mode and it will not connect. What may be causing that, and is there anything that I can download and run perhaps when in Safe Mode which will correct the issue?
Try disabling your firewall briefly, then see if it works.

Okay, I tested the safe mode switch around again to make sure it wasn't a fluke, but yes it still connects in safe mode. I'm restarting again now and will turn off the firewall. Would malwarebytes or ccleaner help me?
if switching off the firewall doesn't help then malwarebytes would be the next step, run it in safe mode in preference.

Thanks, by the way, when I went to turn off the firewall it was already turned off, so I turned it on. But still not working.

Is there any sort of completely obvious thing that may be overlooked that could be causing it?
