Microsoft reader

I have just downloaded this programme. I have not been able to activate it yet due to server probs, my questions are , can it be used to read free books, has anybody else had any experience of it good or bad, would be grateful to hear, thankyou.

I have it but rarely use it. It's OK if you like reading from a screen.

When I downloaded it (about 2 years ago) MS also ran a promo for free ebooks (along the lines of a title a week over the summer period) but the vast majority of titles you may want have to be purchased.
