I am confused by your posting.

You appear to be asking a question concerning Google Chrome and then indicate that you are trying to save when using Firefox, but IE then comes into the equation.

Please give some more info which includes your default Browser and operating system (e.g. Windows XP, Vista, W7 or whatever)

Ron.
Got me too!
What are you saving as, because you get two options either Web Page HTML only or Web Page Complete?

If you just want a quick ref guide try 'Print Screen' paste it into Paint and save as jpeg. Is IE still your default web browser?

sorry but i´m also stumped, by words such as paint, jpg.
I will start from the beginning, I used to have 3 browers, IE, firefox+googlechrome. I decided recently to remove IE + firefox, due to there inefficiency, and found googlechrome a lot quicker and just more user friendly.
Anyway i tried to save an article recently, by right clicking my mouse, to my horror, it saved the article in internet explorer, why??
So ive tried to download IE again, but it seems impossible, my pc keeps saying i´ve still got IE, so wont let me download IE 7 OR IE 9.
That is the whole reason why I have switched back to IE from using Firefox or Chrome, I couldn't "save as" simply like I could in IE, it was far too confusing for me. I know where I am with IE - been using it for years.

thanx ann, you know what i am experiencing. so it looks like i will have to remove g.chrome to be able to get IE.
pn....It would be interesting to know what is your operating system. Are you using Windows XP? Furthermore you say that you removed IE....intrigued to know how you did it.

Be careful that you do not end-up without a browser by removing Chrome.

as said b4 ron, i thought i´d removed IE, but it seems 2b still in the system, because i´ve tried to download IE 9, but keep getting a pop up widow saying i still have it
You can't uninstall IE, it just leaves the previous version e.g. if you uninstall IE9 then you will still have IE8 left on you computer. Have you set Chrome (if that's the browser you want to use) as your default?
What's your O/S ie: XP,Vista or W7?
I've just looked through your posts and see your using W7.
Click 'Start' in the Run/Search box type 'iexplore' without the quotes. At the top you should now have 'iexplore.exe'. Drag and Drop this to your desktop, Windows might say 'cannot do this, do you want a shortcut?' click Yes.

Click the shortcut and see if IE starts up. Let us know what happens......
It sounds like Google Chrome is not your default browser. Follow the instructions on this page:

http://support.google...py?hl=en&answer=95417

Once you have done that, go back and open the "articles" you have saved. You should find they open in Chrome.
I use google chrome, to save a page click on the 3 horizontal bars in the righthand corner and there are various options such as save, simples!

God sorry everyone for not answering questions. My operating system is Windows vista basic
piggynose, have you tried what I suggested above?
Question Author
chattykathy, ann86 im sure will back me up in saying that trying to anything with g,chrome is impossible. Yes you can save things, but when you try to open whatever you´ve saved you get 50 or so files, which are all useless.
Question Author
well i´ve just made googlechrome my default browser, tried to save something, then tried to open it, but still having the same problems as b4, lots of useless files to choose from. help!
Question Author
you dont think i´ve got a virus, if so would this affect the action of the default?
The instructions I gave before will work on Vista.
I got the impression you wanted IE back?
Question Author
i didnt ignore you slackalice, it just looked impossible to do, i´ll give it a go now
My experience with Chrome and Firefox is that when you save from the Internet the page/file will end-up in a 'Downloads' folder.

Click the 3bars on the top right hand corner of your Google page, then look down the menu and click downloads to see what's in the folder which then opens. With a bit of luck your missing documents will be there.
