I am with TalkTalk and have just retired so I am using the internet at home a lot more.
TalkTalk is promoting Fibre Optic Medium for £10 per month in our area or Large for £15 per month.
Sadly I am widowed and I normaly use just 1 laptop.

1) Is it worth having a fibre optic connection?. Talk Talk have said my service would be a lot faster and a lot more reliable.

2) I have 3 grandchildren who tend to visit at the same time and they bring their laptops. Would they be able to use all of them at the same time on the medium service or should I go for the large?.

I can't answer your specific questions but we are with BT and we've just upgraded to fibre optic - it makes computer activity very much faster, both on the desktop and my laptop (with wifi).
The main question would be, are you happy with the internet speed you get at the moment?

And as long as you and the grandchildren don't want to all watch videos online at the same time the speed required for 4 people just the browse the internet is actually very low. I've had over 100 people using a 4Mb/s connection and it was perfectly usable for normal browsing (OK, only 2 or 3 people could watch online videos at once but people shouldn't be watching things like Iplayer at work so that wasn't an issue)
