DivX crashing

i've been a naughty boy and copied 1 or 2 DVDs onto CD and playing them in DivX. Having problems with some of them in that they crash my system at various intervals. Even Ctrl+Alt+Del fails sometimes...occassional message saying Msgsrv32 (not responding)! CAN ANYONE HELP?

Windows Media Player has (or at least had) memory leak problems, meaning that the memory used by the program expanded continually and never released portions of memory that it had finished with. This had obvious consequences very similar to those you describe.
