DVD Player with USB that plays .avi files

Does anyone know of such a machine?

I've gone boggled eyed searching the internet.

But, they tend to be really touchy about the exact format, bitrate and resolution of AVI files they'll play. you'd be better of connecting a cheap refurb laptop to your TV if playing AVI files is our primary concern.

This model claims to do it, available from Maplin’s outlet on ebay. Interestingly it is not available from their shops.

But with so many subtle differences between video file types, I would want to see it play the particular files types before parting with my money – otherwise you might find you have a piece of electronic junk.

I convert my .avi files to video files (I use DVD Flick but there's prob quicker & better tools), then burn to CD. Not that that's what you wanted to know ... :o)
