Router not found
3 Answers
Hi, I hope someone can help with this problem.
My computer is at the moment accessing the internet using an ethernet cable. I couldn't remember why I didn't connect it by wireless initially and now I know why! (See below).
I want to move my computer to the other side of the room and the cable is not long enough so was going to buy a longer cable. However, I first tried to enable the wireless and discovered why I hadn't in the first place.
When I go to 'connect to a network' I can't find my router. I think I've got everybody else on the street there.
I'm running Windows 7 and have a Huawei Echolife HG520b router on a HP TouchSmart 310 PC. Could it be that the router is an older model?
Any help would be appreciated before I go out and buy a longer ethernet cable.

Set your router to use a channel below 11. if it works then something in the regional settings on the computer is set to USA... (America doesn't use channels above 11 so the computer disables those channels if it thinks it's in America)
Although.... I'd still suggest the longer Ethernet cable is a better bet all round.
