How do I replace a fan?

Hi my computer was crashing, so someone on here suggested i hold a fan to the side of my computer with the side off. This has worked!! yipee, but what now?

If, as it appears,your PC is prone to overheating, first check that the CPU fan, the fan on your graphics card, if it has one, and any other fans are working.

If you find one that has failed, replace it.

If they are, then you need extra fans, you can get these from Maplin, who have a wide range of case cooling options.

Also think about the room temperature, if its in a hot room it will crash more often. is there enough air space around the PC, some people box in their computer so it looks nice and is out of the way but it stops the heat from escaping.
