When I try and search for a file or programme a message appears saying "a file that is required to run search companion cannot be found, you may need to run setup" When I run setup a message says "Please go to the control panel to install and configure system components" Could anybody advise me what to do next? ta

Try Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs. Select the programme you want to re-install then click on the 'Change' button.

You'll need the programme installation disks for this.
