Dell Inspiron Broken Battery & New Battery Broken In Hours?
2 Answers
I had a Dell Inspiron 1545 and noticed that the battery wouldn't be on unless the charger was plugged in. I bought a new battery and fitted it, everything seemed fine. Now within 48 hours I have the same problem.
My first resolution with the old battery was a new charger but this didn't resolve the problem.
Any idea why this has happened again and so soon?
Laptop was wiped clean to give to my grandmother.

Some other problems with DELL laptops is that the original DELL charger is not recognised correctly and the system then wont charge the battery, but will work with the charger plugged in. Something to do with a bespoke chip circuit within the DELL charger unit going faulty. Changing the charger for a non-DELL / Universal charger may not get recognised either.
I have had a similar problem with a DELL Latitude D630 where it would not recognise the DELL charger. Had to change to a new DELL Charger to correct the problem.
