My new sony vaio (Windows 8) has stopped recognising my plug in usb mouse, I've tried 3 different meeces (for want of a better word mouses or mice!) and they work occasionally then it goes ding dong and nothing. Is there something I could tweak to get the external mouse to work? Thank you.

Thank you have done all that and it says no drivers found! Now what?
Question Author
have just tried it again and it says all is working correctly, but it isn't, thanks anyway!
Any installation disks with the laptop Netters?
Question Author
No none at all, the mouse worked fine for a couple of weeks and now it's on and off (more off than on to be exact) but the mouse pad works ok so will have to stick with that.
Disks are often not included these days Nets. Machines usually have a Recovery partition on the Hard Disk.

If you do a bit of poking around with system's troubleshooting and recovery facilities. I would guess that, somewhere, will be the Driver(s) that you need re-installing.

Oh dear, my poking about usually resorts in some disaster or other, but I will persevere and sort something out, may have to call in a friend!!
