Android Backup - Onto A Pc

I want to back up everything on my android - contacts, calendars, notes, pics, texts, call logs etc - and there is a way to do that ON THE PHONE, but it just saves it as a restore file which cannot be accessed except to restore it.

but i cant find a way to do it - as a whole group of stuff - on the desktop... in such a way that i can access the data just as easily as on the handset.

there are ways to save all those things INDIVIDUALLY, which is a bit of a pain - i want something that i can just plug it in and copy the lot over in one go...
some software only does contacts or sms etc

basically i want to browse what is on my phone - on my PC, while the handset is not connected..

any ideas?

Are you not able to browse the phone file system via the Windows File Explorer / Manager i.e. My Computer, utilsing the USB connection. This is a method available on a number of other phone types.

If so, you could copy and paste the entire contents to a directory on your PC. You may need to switch off USB Tethering which is mentioned in the phone manual.

Use a backup app to do so i use G Cloud backup it does not even require rooting.

but you still dont have a "physical" copy of everything, its just floating around on someone elses servers just waiting for the day you need the backup and their service is down !
