Music From Phone Onto Laptop??

I have some voice messages on my android (zte skate) stored under Music, I wish to keep them and put onto either laptop or disc and to clear the phone, is this possible?

After connecting the data cable to the laptop you can browse your phone through laptop. Go to the my computer option the select the folder that is added as your phone. Now browse the photos and songs you want to store in your computer from your phone in the folder.
After finding the particular folder right the option and then save it on to your computer.

Can't seem to do it, when I connect my ohone to the pc, I get nothing on the pc and on the phone I get an orange adroid with the option to turn on or off sd card, my music is not on the sd card, no idea how to get it on there, just no programmes come up with any options to copy paste or whatever. I get an E disc but nothing happens, oh dear I really am thick!
