I think that old-age has finally caught up with me.I'm using the above connection once again after a long lay off.I've done all the necessary links (I think)with intention of transferring a VHS to my PC Doohh what's next .what prog do I use to record it onto my h/drive??? Any bit by bit info would be very much appreciated,please don't assume that I know ANYTHING. Thanks !!!

Oh, hang on. If it's the screen resolution on your monitor you need to change, rght-click on your desktop, select Properties and then Settings. Move the slider, click Apply and then OK. (Don't worry when your screen goes blank for a few moments; it's meant to happen!) You can easily reverse the operation by the same procedure.
Hi there BC sorry for the delay I've been messing around with the resolution settings.I've arrived at one that allows me to open up Ulead video studio BUT my desktop now has a wide black margin all the way round and the icons are either too large or too small plus the font size according to the settings.Any ideas please???

1. Simply put up with the inconvenience while recording videos, them play them back (in your normal resolution) with a decent free media player such as VLC (which is favoured by the technical press) or GOM (which is my own favourite):
