Right, I downloaded Skype this morning. Firstly, there is no icon on my dashboard (or anywhere else for that matter) so every time I log in, I have to go through the process of downloading an update! Can somebody, in easy-speak please, tell me what I have done wrong. I would be really really grateful. Thanks

...and secondly, how do I adjust the camera as I can't seem to get mine to work.
So, presumably you downloaded and installed skye from this location:

http://download.skype.com/052467f8a05ac588a5a956e332e6ac41/SkypeSetup.exe

If so, the installation should add the Skype option in the 'All Programs' list
i.e. goto 'Windows Start>All Programs>Skype>Skype'

Check if it is the option is already there, if not already checked.

Skype has been playing up for a few days now. I thought at first it was due to my B/B connection playing up. Stick with it. It is a great way to be in touch with people, but a big pain in the A** when it doesn't work. My grandmother would have thought it witchcraft.

I installed it from the link you sent pinkyboyid, but there is absolutely nothing in the 'all programs' list. I did a search for it but there is nothing there. I have just tried downloading it again and it opened the contact page, but there is still no shortcut/link.
I am not sure it is running at present. It is still there. Maybe someone is cyberattacking it to gain information
Ok, seems very strange.

Do you know if your Windows Logon id has Administrator account status. You can check via 'Windows Start>Control Panel>User Accounts*Family settings>User Accounts' You should then see your User Logon name and next to it it should say Administrator.

If possible you could also try creating a new user account and set that account as Administrator status then logon with that account and try Download / Install Skype again.

Thanks for your help guys. I started from scratch and opened a new account. It worked and I now have Skype on my shortcut list. Now to sort out the problem of the webcam....
