Internet Security Package

need advice please

if buy a new internet security package for 2013, i don't have to uninstall the 2012 one first?

and does it make any difference if you have 3 user, 1 year or 1 user 1 year
package. sure it doesn't, but if someone could confirm that would great

I have Norton and I just put the disc in with no uninstalling. and it is also for 3 computers and I only have one computer. I renewed my security in October 2012 then in January norton updates me to 2013.
