edit an mp3 track?

is there a program or something where you can edit an MP3 track? I have a song, but i want the beginning bit to be cut off, as it's just cheering and stuff (its a live track)

Can this be done?

use Audacity:

you can use quicktime, it's free to download and easy to use, just highlight the area of the track you want rid of, and hit 'delete'

've never used Quicktime for this but can vouch for Audacity. It's dead easy to use.
Sounds like you have at least a couple of options.
