Mouse Driver For Asda 'smart Price' Optical Mouse
4 Answers
I bought an Asda 'Smart Price' Optical Mouse today but am unable to get it to work. I have gone through the Windows 'Locate and Install Driver Software' procedure and Windows is telling me that the software has been successfully installed and the device is ready to use. But still it doesn't work, despite re-starting my laptop. Can anyone advise, please?

I suspect that you've bought a duff one (which is unfortunate because they're actually rather a good product). It should use the standard plug-and-play driver built into Windows, so it doesn't need one of its own.
Try it on a friend's computer (or, if you've got a laptop, on that). If it's dead, take it back. If it works on other computers, post here again.

I tried the Asda 'Smart Price' Optical Mouse other newer laptop (9 month old Lenovo, with Windows 7) and it works perfectly, so the problem seems to be with my older laptop (a Medion Akoya P6612, which is about 4 years old, with Vista installed). The reason I bought the Asda mouse is because my Medion mouse has been a bit temperamental (the red light goes out and it goes dead for a minute or more, then it comes back to life, but before long, it dies again, then comes back to life). I had hoped the new Asda mouse would have worked, but no joy. I also have another mouse (a Logitech), which once again works on my new laptop, but not on my old one. Can anyone advise, please - particularly Chris, who has been particularly helpful.
