Was looking up the prices of blu ray players yesterday and noticed some had wifi so you can watch YouTube, Iplayer, etc. I didn't even know these existed.

Most of them only mentioned they above named players plus some movie streaming sites. What I couldn't work out is whether I would also be able to watch other catch up sites, like 4OD (which is the one I tend to watch most on the iPad).

Does anyone know much about these and can you recommend a reasonably priced one (with built in wifi, not wifi ready)?

I bought the Panasonic one when Comet folded and I think it is the "poodles privates", if you have other compatible TV's in the house you can stream anything on the player to those TV's. OK not cheap but I can't see the point in skimping for £80 then wishing I'd bought the more expensive one. also checked review sites and found the other makes got terrible reviews so avoided them. Buy cheap buy twice!

Thanks, but do you have any idea about my query regarding other catch up features, like 4OD?
To the best of my knowledge (backed up with quite a bit of googling and, for example, looking at items in the Argos catalogue), 4oD isn't yet available via any 'Smart' device.

However Wikipedia states that Samsung plans to add 4oD to their Smart TVs during the current year, so it's highly likely that they'll also add it to their Smart Blu-Ray players as well.
Same with ITV player, although with most devices now whether it be smart phones or TV's etc they can be upgraded via software over the net, doesn't mean they are totally future proof but it helps. I checked out the Samsung player before I bought Panasonic and it got horrendous reviews on every site I looked at, swayed me toward the Panasonic.
