Spam Email Keeps Coming...

Everyday I get around 50 spam emails which all start with mailers@. The second half of the email address changes with each email, so it is impossible to block the addresses. I stupidly tried to unsubscribe from some which made them send me even more. They seem quite inoffensive and are just selling different things. Is there any way I can stop these from being sent to me? I think the company is in Texas.

Maybe YOU are being used as a router to send out emails.

Many ordinariy users (without knowing it) have software on their PC that sends out emails (it is called a BOT - for robot - or BOTNET).

Make sure you have good up to date anti virus on your computer an run a full scan.

Also download the free version of malwarebytes and install and run that as well.

I may be wrong but it is a good thing to do anyway.

p.s. As you have found out, NEVER unsubscribe from spam email, it just proves your email addres is live.
Change your email password as well.
One other thing. It is not a good idea to have just one email address as everything gets routed through it.

It is easy to set up extra email addresess with googlemail, hotmail (now called outlook.com) and so on, all for free.

I have about 7 email addresess which I use for different things.

Have one JUST for family and friends and NEVER use it for anything else.

I have some I use for registering for web sites, others I use to enter competitons or to get newsletters - from Amazon, Tesco etc.

If one starts to get a lot of spam I stop using it and create another.
I'm not an expert but I'm surprised that, given there is a common element to the e-mail address, they can't be blocked.

Have you tried webwasher ? It's free and may help.
You could also try the free version of Mailwasher. Once installed and running, all your spam e-mails will be highlighted as such in Mailwasher. Provided you list all your genuine contacts in your "friends list" they will be recognised as genuine emails. When you click on "Process Mail" all the spam will be deleted and your e-mail programme will open and you can then download your e-mail with no spam.

Your friends list is created via "Settings" Mailwasher Free:-
