I have an esprimo mobile v6555 laptop packed in. comp man done tests said dc socket knackered. can buy dc socket on ebay for less than £5 comp man said he wouid need £100 + to replace because of time taken to strip down - re assemble comp. (4-5 hrs) anyone know how big a job to replace if done myself? any help greatly appreciated,

I've looked into replacing a faulty DC-In board myself (on a Mac not a PC): the time consuming and fiddly part is the dismantling/reassembling of the exterior casings etc. Replacing the actual DC-In board would take about 2 minutes (on a Mac).

Thank you for excellent answer. I really need repair manual. contacted fujitsu and wont help (classified info)? looked on utube video but all in spanish. Can speak German but not technically.
