Outlook "cut" Locked On... Help!

Ok every now and then when composing an email in Outlook I accidentally hit some combination of keys or oter that lockes me in "select/cut/copy" mode in the text, then when I move the cursor it highlights it. Does anyone know how to reset this? At the moment I have to abandon the email and start again. There must be some combination of keys that resets it, thanks
