"Parameter is incorrect" when accessing CD-Rs

Some CD-Rs that I've written give me the error "Parameter is incorrect" when I try to view them through Windows Explorer, and I can't access them. What's wrong, and is there any way to get fix this problem?

This can occur while trying to write audio CDs with Roxio's EZ CD Creator This error indicated that the .mp3 files that you are attempting to write to CD are corrupted or of poor quality. The only resolution is to use higher quality .mp3s. There are several programs available for download which can test the quality of .mp3s before attempting to write them to CD. One such program can be found at http://www.ashampoo.com/products/0008/.
