BTyahoo. Windows 7
The BT Yahoo! browser was 'retired' 2½ years ago, with users being advised to switch to Internet Explorer, so I'm guessing that's what you're actually missing. Further, I'll guess that your browser is exactly where it's always been; you've simply lost the shortcut to it.

Go to Start > Programs and look for Internet Explorer. Right-click on it and select Send To > Desktop. You should then have the shortcut back again.

If you've got a taskbar at the foot of your screen, right-click on a blank space and then on Toolbars, to see what should be displayed. (Click on anything you want to see that hasn't already got a tick alongside it).

If you've not got a taskbar at the bottom of your screen, it might be minimised to zero height. Place your cursor at the very bottom of the screen. (It should switch to a double-headed arrow, showing that it's resting on the top of the taskbar). Click-and-drag it up to where the top of the taskbar should be, then right-click on a blank space on it and select 'Lock taskbar' to prevent it disappearing again.

Are your 'favorites' (horrid American spelling!) still there? Do they work?

Are you on Internet Explorer or Opera when you are looking?
If Opera, open up IE and have a look.
If I remember rightly, BTYahoo was a tweaked version of IE and you have probably had an update for IE.

Also messages comes up 'Your profile could not be opened'

Just get this message on IE
Just in case you've still got the old BT Yahoo! browser on your computer, try going to Start > Programs to see if it's listed. If so, right click as above to get your shortcut back.

Tried this but just get the same message, 'your profile could not be found'. Looks like a trip to Pc hospital!!
It all sounds strange to me. But then things often do.

You haven't got a browser, so you post via Opera.!!???

Did you have Internet Explorer at some time. In which case, as it's almost impossible to remove it from Windows, it will still be there... somewhere. If you follow very carefully everything that is said by Buenchicho (Chris) you'll find the missing item.

Things get even stranger because you have now made reference to Internet Explorer...." Just get this message on IE ".

You could try a system restore. It's not difficult in Windows 7. This will restore the machine back to before the updates.
>>>You could try a system restore

An excellent suggestion!!!
Thanks Chris, it's really easy in 7:
Go to Start (bottom left corner), type "system restore" in the box and select it from the menu. Follow the on screen instructions, choosing a time from before the updates.
Good luck, off out for a bit, will check in later to see how it went, if at all.
