Re my Q about my new computer, I had a message come up on screen to enter a browser and had a choice. I installed Google Chrome which is what I had on my lap top and 'hey presto', all of my details were transferred to my new computer.
Thanks to those who advised me.
My problem I now have is with my my lap top. Firstly, as I am typing emails or word, the cursor suddenly jumps two or three lines up so that all of a sudden, I'll be typing 'yours faithfully' or something, after 'dear sir'.

The second thing is, my screen keeps going blank and I get a message, 'Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered.
I have gone into Google and found similar Q/A's but the answers are all quite technical and all Greek to me.

This is far clearer than me trying to explain how to access the driver in device manager: http://www.techtalkz.com/windows-7/515982-how-use-device-manager-windows-7-a.html

If you don't use the touchpad, disable it. It is highly likely you are trailing a thumb over it causing the cursor to jump when you type.
Disable it any way as a test to see if it solves the problem.

Re the driver - you need to go in to your device manager and update the driver. What operating system are you using?

I use the touchpad all the time hc and have been doing so for the past three years or so. It's only recently this has started to happen.
Re the operating system I assume that's Windows 7?

Many thanks hc. I'll try that tomorrow when I'm more awake.
