Digital Photos

I have a lovely digital photo, of me and my wife in front of a bridge. Sadely, the bridge is bathed in sunlight, but my wife and I, in the foreground, are in the dark, so we can barely be seen. Are there any photo editing packages I could use to artificially "lighten" us up? If so, what mode do I look for?

You want a plugin or action called something like Fill Flash which will lighten the underexposed parts of the photo without overexposing the rest.

I use Roxio Studio 5 which has a facility for changing the exposure, contrast etc. An extremely versatile programme.

if you have photoshop or something similar. you would need to do the followign, draw round the section that needs lightning and then adjust the brightness and contrast. this way you control the bits you want to change. Hope this helps.

the gimp (google it), has many of the features of photoshop, and its free.

Picasa2 is another free imaging package that is really good and very easy to use. This also has a Fill Light amongst its many options.
