Can you surf the internet with a Kindle Fire. Also can you take photographs with it?

Yes you can go surfing the net on a fire but you can't take photos with one.

I have two kindles, one is a fire and the other is the ordinary e-book type.
Both I love. Both were gifts. Anyway, the fire as I said does the internet, it also stores music and photos though it doesn't take them. My one gripe with the fire is that the battery doesn't last as long as the ordinary one. If I use it a lot I have to charge it a couple of times a week, but as I use it for internet as opposed to firing up my laptop it's to be expected I suppose. I would say that if you are planning to use it a lot for internet access you might want to rethink and maybe go for a tablet, but again if you need to use a key board a lot a laptop is still the best option, as a touch screen keypad can be a bit of a pain at times. Sorry to (sort-of) disagree with nungate but the fire does have a camera lens BUT it is forward facing. I mean I use mine for Skype video calls so whilst theoretically you can take pictures it is really only for 'selfies'
