I have to provide a high resolution photo of myself.

A photo taken at the maximum quality of the camera, it will be a large file.

PS I know this is a simple answer, for such a basic (no offence intended to the OP) question, I thought a basic answer was best.

High-Res is usually considered to be at least 300 dpi

You'll need to know how large it is going to be printed in order to work out your file size.

The printed photo will be very small, just 5c x 5c.
