On some channels , there is a good picture - on other channels there is no picture or the picture keeps breaking up .

The sky box ( basic box ) and dish are the original ones installed , for quite a few years now .

Is there any adjustments / checks that i can do on the dish / box - before calling out A N Other ?

Sounds like its time for a new LNB and re align, probably not a DIY job unless you have the right equipment. i.e. strength meter etc. the channels come in blocks which is why some are good and some are bad.
