Just received an email purporting to come from the Land Registry saying that they want to take £285 from what they call my 'nominated account'.

Didn't seem too right, although the phone number on it is theirs, I Googled them to check it.

There's an automated message on their answering service saying they know about it and that it should be deleted without opening as it contains a trojan.

Just thought I'd pass it on, in case anybody on here gets it.

I assume it didn't address you by name . If a sender doesn't know my name and just calls me Dear Customer or something like that I know it's not worth opening

Exactly, Factor. That's what made me wonder. And don't people normally put that they'll be taking the money from they account **** **** **** 1234 or something of that order?
