I need a new digital TV recorder and wonder if anyone can recommend a reasonably priced, reasonably easy to use model?

We don't have Sky, just a regular TV with inbuilt Freeview.

Richers also do Humax- they are a Which? Recommended Retailer and will take time to explain all - without being pushy. I've bought lots of stuff from them over many years and have never been let down. Do you need to keep recordings (like you did with VHS tapes) on DVD? If so, then Panasonic have recording to DVD as well as hard drive. If you don't want to be able to...

Thanks Ginger. There's a Richer sounds very close to work, but I've never been in there. I might give them a look one day next week.

...and...the only other place I'd buy from is John Lewis. Things like DVD recorders and PVRs CAN go wrong - so you want a retailer with good after-care. Both RS and JLP fit that bill.
