Sony Tablet To Sony Tv

I brought a cable to connect my Sony Tablet to my Sony tv, I went thru the different inputs but the screen other than I use for sky is just blank, One screen was blue. Is it just plug and play?, do I need to do anything else? Thankyou

What type of socket have you plugged it into? You will probably need to use the 'source' button on your remote and scroll down to the appropriate socket type (eg HDMI 1).

hank you for the reply, I am using a Micro USB MHL Male 1.5m TV Cable for Sony Xperia to MHL Enabled TV. The TV is is a 40' LCD with various inputs, Scart, HDMIs etc and I think is modern enough and capable to use it for what I need. I'm putting the small connection end into the tablet (where I usually would charge it) and the other larger connection end into a spare HDMI slot on the side of the TV, it's indicated '7' so I scroll through to 7 and it'sa blue screen as if to indicate it's picking something. I've tried using the other HDMI sockets but no luck.
