No Sound On Tv

Hi,
Turned tv on yesterday, no sound :( Not muted, nothing blatantly obvious wrong, if fact the player plugged into a different HDMI socket does have sound, just not the one the Virgin box is plugged into.
Was fine the day before, but no longer.
Any suggestions please ?

Swap the plugs over at the TV end - will identify if the problem is the TV or the Virgin box.

Well you've obviously checked that the TV isn't muted but have you had a look at the remote control for the Virgin box? That's probably also got a button which mutes its output (and which you might inadvertently have pressed).

Never been able to mute or use the volume keys on the Virgin remote. 1st step to setting it up is pressing "*" + TV together. There isn't a "*" key, so I've never been able to do it.
But - I have just rebooted the Virgin box & that's sorted it.

methyl, I've got a mute button, but no "*". Under the "7" where it'd be on a phone is a "Help" button. But I don't need it, I use the mute button on the tv remote.
