I was (when we bought it) the only one with a built in TopupTV card reader. We paid 7 I think for a months subscription to TopupTV and we have had all the extra channels since then (about a year ago) although we only paid for a month!!
I have also a DigiTV PCI (Freeview) card in my PC and that is fantastic. I can record any freeview programm either onto hard disk or a re recordable DVD.
I had a Ferguson FDT2000 which was very good.. unfortunately it packed up so I went to by a new one and found many had less features on.. things I wanted were.. 2 Scart sockets, RF IN and OUT (for tv co-axial cable) and 2 PHONO plugs (so it can be plugged into a AUX socket on my Hi-Fi).
I got one which had these things eventually from Currys.. a MATSUI DTR1 .. they both are easy to set up, etc, but the matsui does not have a built in RF modulator.. the Ferguson had.. which meant it puts out a signal on UHF channel 22.
As I have a co-axial cable from living room TV to a portable in my dining room I can watch the satelite and any video that is on in the living room.. and I could watch the freeview channel.. but not with the Matsui as it hasn't got a rf modulator built in.
