The Kindle Paperwhite is excellent at doing what it's made for. i.e. reading eBooks. As long as you don't expect it to be a substitute for a tablet (because, for example, it's web browser is only extremely basic) it would seem hard to fault it.
Fruit I have galaxy 10.7 as well, sorry to but in but I am looking into grtting one as well, whats the difference between paperwhite and fire? And how many books can you download on a 32 memory, or is a 64 memory better, she is a bookworm. X
Josephine32, your friend will get thousands upon thousands on a 32GB. My friend has some on her laptop, about 2000, which takes up only 7GB. They take very little room.
Fruitsalad, I see from another post you have a Samsung Galaxy S 4. You can download the Kindle App to this too. I presume you would be taking your phone on holiday even though you don't want to take your Tab.
We have a Paperwhite which is great for holidays but you can only read books which you have bought on it. Kobo make a very similar model at a similar price and you can get books from local libraries on it. We have both and find the Kobo better because of that. You can join several libraries without needing to live in the area and borrow up to 5 books for up tp 3 weeks - perfect for holidays.
