I am thinking of buying a tablet, I just want one I can use for e mails and take photographs etc. I don't want to spend a fortune on one, has anyone got any recommendations. Thanks.

Tesco are doing the Hudl for £116 (that you may be able to buy using Tesco club card points).

This is a 7" tablet that has had good reviews.

Also, what size do you want - the two usual sizes are 10inch-ish and 6inch-ish

I have just purchased a Google Nexus 7, which most tell me is a very good budget tablet, it can be purchases with a reduction of £20 from a certain 'Phone Warehouse'.

I have yet to take it out of it's box, so I cant tell you much about it, check it out on the web, except to say that I do believe it doesn't posses a front facing camera, only a rear facing one.

The Nexus 7 has a 5MP rear facing camera that can shoot video in 1080p and a 1.2MP front facing camera.

Sorry, yes the Nexus 7 2013 is the best Android tablet and second only to the more expensive iPads.

I'm going Tesco Hudl. £119 for a tablet that has received universally high reviews.
If you are a Tesco customer Clubcard points count double £60 you can get it free.

Can't really understand why anyone would need a camera on a tablet, they are hardly small to carry around so as to take photographs, what is wrong with a mobile phone or even a digital camera for such work?

A tablet is a smallish device for people who spend a fair bit of time MAINLY looking at the web.

There are things it does not do as well as a laptop 9typing etc) but for looking at web sites, doing simple email work, playing a few simple games etc they are fine.

They are also small so go in a handbag etc

I use mine as a satnav - far better than my top spec TomTom, watching movies and tv, listening to my music/radio, skype, browsing the web, emails, twitter

The camera works really well as a photocopier, if you are filling forms in and want to keep a copy for yourself it is great for that. Also taking screen shots of investing web sites that you come across. I find the camera really useful.
