Microsoft !!!!

Just succumbed to the constant nagging to install updates to Windows 7 with the inevitable restart.
But the update also added a new, unbidden, icon to my desktop from Microsoft entitled "Internet Explorer Troubleshooting". What is this and why do I need it? I use Google Chrome (apart from when I have made major updates to a website I manage when I test it out on a number of different browsers).
Also, Whenever I visit eBay, I'm told Silverlight has been disabled because it is out of date. I obviously can do without Silverlight because eBay works just fine.

You're safe to delete the "troubleshooter" - it's just a bunch of help files to get you up to speed with the new IE9/10/11

Silverlight is MS's own video player thingy I believe. Don't worry about it - or, just update it. Sometimes (VERY rarely) you'll bump into a site where it is needed.
