I have acquired a large file of e-reader books and wish to copy the titles/authors into an XL spreadsheet for easier management.
Is there an easy way to do this using win7 other than by typing.
I tried to copy and paste but this doesn't work

Not a direct answer but have you tried Calibre eBook Management?
It's a free download and has very useful features.

Meant to say I can't understand why copy and paste didn't work for you. Where are trying to copy from?

Thanks I'll give that atry.
I'm highlighting the files in the windows directory - select copy, which is ok.
Then when I try to paste in XL, it is greyed out
You need a directory listing for the folder - this looks to be one way to do it http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321379 (but I haven't tried it) - and there are free 3rd party utilities which will do it.
