Washing Machine Wont Fill With Water

... So I switch it on, and I can hear something going on inside, like a whirr and a click and at that point it would usually start to fill. But nothing is happening now.

What could be the problem? Its a very cheap Beko one. WMA10

Are your pipes frozen? (if you know what I mean!). That's what happened to ours when we had the big freeze a few years ago.

Check that you have not accidentally shut off the Water valve, and also check the hose for kinks.
If there is water definitely reaching the water valve, I would suspect a faulty Solenoid. Do not tamper with it as it has a live feed, switch Off Washing Machine first.

turned out the 'door sensor' was broken. my toddler has recently discovered the little hole where the door clicks shut and is forever poking her fingers in. she must have broken it! now fixed :o)
