Does a lead exist that will connect an Ipad to a guitar amp? I need to amplify and record sopunds produced.

Your Pad has a 3.5mm jack socket for audio output. To the best of my knowledge, guitar amplifiers all use quarter inch (6.35mm) jack sockets for heir inputs. So you simply need one of these:
