Until recently, as soon as I opened up certain sites (this one, my bank et al)
they remembered my user id and in some cases, my password as well. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox some time ago and now some sites (this one, my bank and Friends Reunited among others) don't remember me and I have to go through the login procedure. Others, like The Times, recognise me and log me in automatically. I guess I must have changed my settings but I don't know what I have done or what I need to do. Can anyone help?

Uninstalling and re-installing Firefox has possible altered some settings you had originally.

Open Firefox >Tools > Options > Security.....then make sure that there is a tick inserted in the box alongside 'Remember passwords for sites '
You might want to check under the Securities tab if maybe there were exceptions made as to which websites remember your login details. Make sure you have ticked the box for 'Remember passwords for sites'.
