I did a quick scan with the above (free version) yesterday morning. I had the computer on for about 20 minutes after, mainly browsing AB. This morning I did another quick scan and there were 382 PUP Optional ..... How come there were so many in such a short time? TIA. I have Windows 7.

It's my guess that you have visited and downloaded a fair amount of 'Safe Material' and 'pups' have come along with the downloads. So important to make sure that there are Not hidden 'Extras' with recommended programmes.

Thank you for your answers. I did not download any new software, I was only browsing , mainly AnswerBank, and one other site which I visit every day.
All very strange. It could depend upon what the 'other' site is which you daily visit.

Do you have more than one Anti Virus programme running on your computer.?

This has happened a couple more times recently - after using Chrome (I usually use IE). Am I more likely to get viruses with Chrome? TIA.
